"It was clear to anyone watching the first night performance on 1 December that this new staging was no mere novelty, but one destined to last in the repertoire."

"It was a great success, but the success was due to the inventive way Boyadjiev and Jon Bausor had refreshed the story for modern audiences while steering clear of any heavy-handed psychological reinterpretations of the libretto."

"The ballet looked and felt like a storybook fairy tale, one that was charm and wonderment." The Nutcracker, Norwegian National Ballet,  Jonathan Gray, The Dancing Times, Jan 2017
